Mission Statement

Arkansas Carry is a staunch ally of gun owners and the Second Amendment. It is our mission to provide a peaceable community where Second Amendment issues can be discussed and researched for the purpose of influencing legislation to protect and restore Arkansans their Constitutionally protected rights. In addition, we will strive to provide information and resources which can be used to educate you, as well as others, on this fight for a basic human right, self defense.

History
The Arkansas Carry organization came into being out of necessity. Although there are a few successful and established firearm groups in Arkansas none of these groups considered Open Carry a priority. As a result we took matters into our own hands and established a group dedicated to that cause.
Our primary legislative objective is to see Arkansas law amended to allow for the open carry of firearms throughout the state. This is a grassroots effort accomplished by Arkansas Carry and its members in multiple ways:

- E-mailing and "snail" mailing legislators and explaining our position supported with factual statistics, facts, and case law.
- Calling legislators
- Calling local radio shows
- Online petitioning
- Participating in media interviews
- Actively seeking out online news articles, blogs, etc. and commenting and completing web polls
- Issuing press releases
- Soliciting donations to fund media campaigns such as radio ad blitzes and billboards.

Concealed Carry

Although our primary objective is "Open Carry" we, under no circumstances, seek to jeopardize or further restrict any currently existing Arkansas firearm laws. We are all CHL holders and do not wish to have our ability to conceal firearms restricted in any way.  We want Arkansas CHL holders to have the ability to choose either open or concealed carry. CHL holders who choose not to openly carry should still support such legislation.   Decriminalization of open carry would allow permit holders to no longer be concerned with imprinting, accidental exposure due to wind gusts, shirt lifts, or any other scenario where your firearm might accidentally be exposed.

Online Community

Currently there are no strong online portals or communities online for Arkansas gun enthusiasts. We seek to provide this online community to disseminate information, news, law, and user contributions.
